Straddling the worlds of art, design and craft, London based Nic Webb, 37, has turned a passion for wood into a profession.

His most recent project is a collection of spoons and utensils, each as individual as the tree that their wood came from.

'for me, the spoon is a symbol of nourishment and hope' he explains 'it is also an ancient tool that is recognised in every culture.'

Webb works with green timber, sourced from forests all over the U.K.

His work is on display at the Flow Gallery, London, while exhibitions are planned for Hamburg, Antwerp, Tokyo and South Korea.

And should Webb's work awaken a latent whittling gene within, he runs workshops at his Camberwell studio.
